Hidayat Inayat-Khan is the son of Pir O Murshid Inayat Khan. Born in England and raised in France, he is a distinguished composer of symphonic music which blends the ancient Indian raga technique, which is the birthright of his father's family, and modern Western harmony, studied in Paris under the famous composition instructor Nadia Boulanger. In addition, as leader of the International Sufi Movement, Hidayat also devotes tremendous energy to continuing the spiritual work commenced by his father. He is a tireless worker in the cause of the Message of Love, Harmony and Beauty, imparting his own unique perspective on the meaning of these ideals. At the same time he offers a rare glimpse of the sacred atmosphere of Sufi mysticism embodied by his father.
