| Recent, groundbreaking medical research has made a connection between vitamin D deficiency and 17 types of cancers, including breast, colon, and prostate. Illnesses such as influenza, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, and coronary heart disease have also been linked to a lack of vitamin D. Until not too long ago, not getting enough of the “sunshine vitamin” was only associated with rickets, the childhood bone disease. This complete kit will allow you to test yourself and find out the current level of the Vitamin D in your system. You can then make an informed decision about what supplements or therapies you want to incorporate into your life. Most people are unaware of the health threat of the vitamin D deficiency epidemic, let alone the harm it can cause. Yet researchers and journalists worldwide are finally getting the word out about the dangers we face in ignoring this essential vitamin and its role in preventing both disease and disabling conditions of the muscles and bones. A 2008 article in the Los Angeles Times titled “Sunshine May Be Nature’s Disease Fighter,” reported on this flood of research findings, indicating that low vitamin D levels increase the risk of juvenile diabetes, breast cancer, and heart attack.
